Mosques are at the core of every Muslim community, symbolizing our faith and serving as vital centers for individual enlightenment, education, and moral guidance.

They are where our children learn about the Qur’an, where we gather to honor and worship Allah (SWT), and where special community occasions like holidays, weddings, and funerals are observed.

Rolleston is a new town in New Zealand with 50-60 Muslim families. The community of Rolleston faces a dilemma. They are leasing a commercial property for their masjid, and the lease has already expired back in March 2024. The owner initially did not want to renew the lease, putting the community at risk of losing the ONLY mosque in the district, causing a great deal of anxiety and distress.

Despite these challenges, The building’s owner had a change of heart and proposed a lease extension but it came with a rent hike, placing the mosque in a very challenging position. This means they would lose money EACH month on a property that cannot adequately accommodate the whole community.

We URGENTLY need a permanent solution to this problem. If we don’t act now, there is a possibility that the Rolleston community might face similar situations in the future, risking the loss of their mosque in a town with very few alternatives.

Many people come to the mosque to strengthen their faith and connection with Allah. Losing the mosque would be a significant loss for the Rolleston community.

The existing masjid lacks the capacity to accommodate the growing number of worshippers. There is insufficient space for community activities, and paying the mosque’s rent has become challenging.

A viable solution exists for this issue: The RIC project aims to raise $100K towards the purchase of a building that can function as a mosque, a madrasah, and a primary school.

However, to achieve this goal we need everyone who sees this to donate $100.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals like yourself, we have already received significant support for our cause.

While we appreciate every contribution received so far, we still have a long way to go and your support during this blessed month is more crucial than ever!

⚠️ If we don’t act now, Rolleston, our thriving community, will continue to be divided in performing religious duties and ceremonies due to the small size of the property.

⚠️ Reverts in the area who are eager to learn about their faith will struggle without a mosque

⚠️ It’s crucial for children to experience the mosque from a young age to understand the importance of praying five times a day.

⚠️ For the youth, the mosque serves as a source of guidance and positive role models, especially for those who didn’t grow up in a Muslim-majority environment. The absence of a mosque in Rolleston could expose them to negative influences and the pitfalls of social media.

⚠️ The mosque can be a vital source of introducing many non muslims in the area to Islam.

⚠️ Moreover, the mosque is a hub for community-led programs and meaningful discussions.

⚠️ The lack of a permanent mosque in the area puts these essential activities at risk.

The absence of another permanent mosque nearby makes the situation more dire, with the closest one located 30 km away.

Having a mosque in Rolleston is crucial for the spiritual, educational, and communal needs of our community.

This mosque will foster the moral and spiritual development of our brothers and sisters for years to come and will bring life back to the community.

Reviving the role of a mosque in Rolleston involves not only providing spiritual guidance but also engaging with the wider society, promoting interfaith dialogue, and dispelling misconceptions about Islam.

By actively participating in community outreach programs, this mosque will become a beacon of understanding and tolerance, helping us spread the word of Allah.

Upon arriving in Medina, Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wasallam) prioritized building a mosque before his own house, highlighting the mosque’s central role in building a strong Muslim society through shared worship and collaboration.

In our times, the imperative to revive the role of the mosque has never been more pressing.

Help Yourself In This Life and the Next By Helping Others Worship Today

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said,

“Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.”

(Muslim)

By building a Mosque, you will not only earn the reward of providing a community with a house of Allah, but your Sadaqah Jariya can continue giving benefit for generations to come.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said,

“Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah’s pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise.”

[Bukhari]

A magnificent reward for constructing a mosque being granted a palace in Jannah. Allah (SWT), our gracious creator, promises to compensate us for building His place of worship on earth by bestowing upon us a heavenly abode!

Imagine the architect who is going to build and design that castle for you is not a human architect, it is the Creator of the universe. Imagine how a palace built by Him for you would look like.

You can achieve this reward by contributing to the construction of a mosque in Rolleston.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said,

’When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’.

[Muslim]

You will be rewarded for every supplication, prayer, and Quranic recitation occurring within those walls, as well as for the dhikr recited on the way to prayer and the daily wudu made in preparation, subhanAllah!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

We URGENTLY require your contribution to help raise $100,000 before the end of this month to help secure a permanent home for our masjid.
